Differences and Agreement in Perception of Child Picky Eating Among Center- and Home-Based Childcare Providers and Parents and Its Impact on Utilized Mealtime Strategies.

摘要: Picky eating is a problematic behavior caregivers may encounter with children under their care. A picky eater (PE) typically characterized as consuming narrow range of food, well rejecting several food items. Much the literature regarding PEs involves parents, although use nonparental childcare arrangements in United States has increased past decades. Although data on parental mealtime strategies exist, little known about how parent and provider pickiness perceptions differ between types childcare, such center-based (CBCC) home-based (HBCC), or these influence utilized. The objectives this study were to (1) compare child parents providers, (2) percent agreement perception dyads CBCC providers HBCC (3) identify strategy utilization based perception. total 52 child, parent, triads participated completed Mealtime Assessment Survey Parent/Teacher Strategy same child. Results showed that are 1.4 times more likely than perceive being picky, disagree (41% vs 26%), finally, greater utilized by parents. These results can be used focus intervention efforts aimed at improving habits across home location.
