摘要: Abstract A long-acting thyroid stimulator (LATS), distinct from pituitary thyrotropin (TSH), is found in the serum of some patients with Graves' disease. Although LATS levels correlate several parameters activity thyrotoxicosis, role this abnormal pathogenesis disease remains uncertain. High are frequently associated pretibial myxedema but relation to ophthalmopathy less clear. Demonstration that an immunoglobulin G (IgG) and evidence distribution thyroid-stimulating polypeptide chains IgG parallels antigen-binding known antibodies has led speculation antibody antigen(s). The for against hypothesis discussed detail it concluded present information insufficient confirm or disprove postulate. both vivo vitro studies indicate TSH act on same thyroidal site(s), precise mechanism action these stimulators not yet been determined.
