摘要: Abstract A three-dimensional meso-β model with parameterized microphysics is presented. The capable of simulating orographically forced clouds, rain, and airflow. Tests using a two-dimensional version confirm the ability to replicate linear nonlinear mountain wave simulations previous authors. applied Rhine valley surrounding mountainous areas, Vosges in France Black Forest Germany. Model-predicted rainfall over areas good agreement observations both magnitude location; however, an absence model-predicted cloud cover suggests need for improved mesoscale initialization procedure.
