摘要: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has always been a threatening pathogen. Research on phytochemical components that can replace antibiotics with limited efficacy may be an innovative method to solve intractable MRSA infections. The present study was devoted investigate the antibacterial activity of natural compound demethoxycurcumin (DMC) against and explore its possible mechanism for eliminating MRSA. minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) DMC strains determined by broth microdilution method, results showed MIC 62.5 μg/mL. synergistic effects were investigated checkerboard time-kill assay. ATP synthase inhibitors employed block metabolic ability bacteria their effect DMC. In addition, western blot analysis qRT-PCR performed detect proteins genes related drug resistance S. exotoxins. As results, hindered translation penicillin-binding protein 2a (PBP2a) staphylococcal enterotoxin reduced transcription genes. This provides experimental evidences potential candidate substance treatment
