摘要: Infection is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in man. Many gram-negative bacteria are sensitive to the bacteriolytic activity serum alone. When not lysed by serum, as common for gram-positive microorganisms, they usually become opsonized subsequently phagocytized phagocytic cells rapidly killed. Optimal phagocytosis requires participation opsonins, including complement immunoglobulin (Ig).
