摘要: Sepsis is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in critically ill children, acute kidney injury (AKI) frequent complication that confers an increased risk for poor outcomes. Despite the documented consequences sepsis-associated AKI (SA-AKI), no effective disease-modifying therapies have been identified to date. As such, only treatment options these patients remain prevention supportive care, both which rely on ability promptly accurately identify at affected individuals. To achieve goals, variety biomarkers investigated help augment our currently limited predictive diagnostic strategies SA-AKI, however, had variable success pediatric sepsis. In this mini-review, we will briefly outline current use propose new framework biomarker discovery utilization considers individual patient's sepsis inflammatory response. Now recognized be key driver complex pathophysiology understanding dysregulated host immune response growing area research can should leveraged improve prediction diagnosis while also potentially identifying novel therapeutic targets. Reframing SA-AKI manner - as direct consequence facilitate precision medicine approach its management, something required move care consequential disorder forward.
