摘要: Critical-point dried (CPD) cells from clonal cultures of Euglena gracilis Klebs (Z strain), E. deses Ehrb., tripteris (Duj.) and myxocylindracea Bold & MacEntee were examined by scanning electron microscopy. Flagellated motile are naked except for a few strands mucilage on the posterior tip. have permanent coating often uneven distribution usually not as well developed that nonflagellated creeping which distinctive mucilage. In appears rough due to aggregation isolated groups above cell surface. smooth breaks near articulation pellicular strips where may rise surface form waves. At high magnification this consists network generally lying parallel surface; become obscure in some specimens. elongated, mucilage-coated contract spheres undergo further deposition producing covering palmellae. As palmellae mature, becomes less porous individuality most is lost.
