Can Psychological Interventions Reduce Mortality Rates in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease and Cancer? A Review of Randomized Trials

摘要: This paper reviews evidence on the impact of psychological interventions survival in patients suffering from one two leading causes death developed countries: coronary heart disease and cancer. “Psychological interventions” this context refers to those procedures commonly thought as psychotherapy. Studies employing randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are considered. While there inconsistencies literature, is promising potential for psychotherapy affect these diseases. Beneficial effects have been documented about half that reported literature. Limitations findings considered directions future research identified.
