摘要: Female coho salmon, Oncorhynchus kisutch, were fed one of two experimental feeds containing lipids with markedly different stable 13C isotope signatures during the late cortical alveolus, lipid droplet, and vitellogenesis stages secondary oocyte growth. Ovarian muscle fatty acid concentrations significantly affected by treatment all three development. Stable analyses confirmed that dietary incorporated into both ovarian revealed more than vitellogenesis. Arachidonic (ARA) was at highest rate acids examined greatest uptake observed alveolus droplet Docosahexaenoic (DHA) next stage The presence an ovary specific, transfer mechanism is proposed. Results from this study demonstrate ability to greatly alter composition through a change growth may be great interest producers farmed salmon broodstock programs.
