SURVIVAL OF BLASTOCYSTS IN THE UTERI OF OVARIECTOMIZED MICE

摘要: Summary. Mature mice were ovariectomized on the 4th day post coitum (Day 1 = vaginal plug) and given no further treatment. Unimplanted (delayed) blastocysts recovered from these females between 5 40 days coitum. They tested for viability by determining proportion that developed into normal foetuses following transfer to Day-4 pseudopregnant recipients. It was found of transferred developing similar after delays 0 10 days. After more than days, capable decreased; 30 32% Days 15, 18% with Day 20, 3% 30. The finding can be delayed in absence ovarian hormones yet remain demonstrates progesterone is not essential blastocyst survival mice.
