摘要: Simultaneous dual-frequency Ka-band (32 GHz) and X-band (8.4 carrier signal data have been acquired during the superior conjunction of Cassini spacecraft June 2001, using NASA Deep Space Network's facilities located in Goldstone, California. The solar elongation angle observations varied from -4.1 degrees (-16 radii) to -0.6 (-2.3 radii). observed coronal effects on signals include spectral broadening, amplitude scintillation, phase increased noise. measurements were generally consistent with existing models, except transient events when signatures increase significantly above quiet background levels. This is second for which simultaneous X/Ka acquired. Both conjunctions, conducted May 2000 occurred near peak current 11 year cycle.
