摘要: [1] When an interplanetary spacecraft is in a solar superior conjunction configuration, the received radio signals are degraded by several effects that generally increase magnitude as angle between and Sun (Sun-Earth-Probe or SEP angle) decreases viewed terrestrial tracking station. During periods of quiescent activity, phase scintillation spectral broadening follow well-defined trends function impact distance (SEP link frequency. active periods, magnitudes these above background levels predicted quiet period models. Several such events were observed during Cassini peak cycle 23 May 2000. Pronounced features data appear to be associated with Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), last for extended time ranging from ∼30 min ∼4 h.
