摘要: Invasive plant species pose a threat to biodiversity worldwide. Ecological disturbances, such as those created by fallen trees, create conditions in which invasive can establish and thrive. This study investigated whether treefall gaps have higher richness of than other areas within forests potentially serve source for the spread species. A nine-hectare area mature deciduous forest at Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) near Edgewater, MD, was censused during summers 2011 2012. The divided into 2m x subplots, presence or absence recorded each subplot. Gaps were defined there no canopy cover above 10m. plants gap non-gap analyzed using ArcGIS. No significant association between found. However, positive coarse woody debris richness.
