Stable, high-power, Yb-fiber-based, picosecond ultraviolet generation at 355 nm using BiB3O6.

摘要: We report a stable, high-power, high-repetition-rate, picosecond ultraviolet (UV) source at 355 nm based on single-pass sum-frequency generation of mode-locked Yb-fiber laser 1064 nm in the nonlinear crystal BiB3O6. By performing second-harmonic (SHG) 30-mm-long LiB3O5 crystal, up to 9.1 W average green power 532 nm is obtained SHG efficiency 54%. The generated pulses have duration 16.2 ps repetition rate 79.5 MHz, with passive stability better than 0.5% rms and pointing <12  μrad over 1 h, high beam quality. radiation then sum-frequency-mixed fundamental 10-mm-long BiB3O6 providing as much 1.2 W UV power, an infrared-to-UV conversion 7.2%, 0.4% 3 h <45  μrad TEM00 spatial profile.
