摘要: In the global carbon cycle, terrestrial biomass plays an important role in both as a sink and source. To evaluate variation due to various natural hazards, it is necessary detect location, extent duration of vegetation disturbance at large spatial scale with efficient method. This study contributes develop such method, only moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) MOD13Q1 enhanced index (EVI) products are used generate continuous damage (CVDI) for detecting severe areas. verify performance this new index, takes identification Wenchuan earthquake China occurred on 12 May 2008 case study. calculates CVDI stricken areas, delineates regions considerable EVI abnormal variation. The result reveals that those delineated normally consistent areas landslides caused by earthquake. Moreover, according changes other vegetation-related MODIS datasets since 2008, discloses value most where was damaged earthquake, has not reached normal 2012, which 4 years after Finally, validate determined high images field survey information used. confirms method can effectively delineate large-scale accurately identify recovery process.
