摘要: The subject area of pharmacogenetics, also known as pharmacogenomics, has a long history. Research in this led to fundamental discoveries, which have helped our understanding the reasons why individuals differ way they handle drugs, and ultimately respond either terms efficacy or toxicity. However, not much knowledge been translated into clinical practice, most drug–gene associations that some evidence validity progressed settings. Advances genomics since 2000, including ready availability data on variability human genome, provided us with unprecedented opportunities understand drug responses, opportunity incorporate patient care. This is only likely occur systematic approach evaluates overcomes different translational gaps taking biomarker from discovery practice. In article, I explore history appraise current state research area, finish off suggestions for progressing field future.
