摘要: Abstract Purpose To evaluate the accuracy of integrated positron emission tomography with 18 F-fluoro-2-deoxy- d -glucose (FDG) and computed (PET/CT) in mediastinal lymph node staging patients potentially operable (N2) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) to ascertain role invasive verifying (PET)/computed (CT) results. Material methods A retrospective study consecutive pathologically-proven NSCLC N2 by enhanced CT was performed. PET/CT scan performed for all patients. Lymph pathologically confirmed when it possible or consensus Thoracic Cancer Committee. Sensitivity, specificity, negative predictive value positive cases were determined. Results total 34 evaluated. showed 30 Discrepancies found four patients, two classified as N1 N0. 20 No false positives study. Sensitivity 94.7%, specificity values 100% 50%. Conclusions Our data show that provides high sensitivity nodal Therefore, resectable cancer, neoadjuvant chemotherapy candidate, mediastinoscopy could be reserved restaging after induction therapy.
