摘要: A fatty acid analog (15-p-iodophenyl)-3,3 dimethyl-pentadecanoic (DMIPP) was studied in cardiomyopathic (CM) and normal age-matched Syrian hamsters. Dual tracer quantitative wholebody autoradiography (QARG) with DMIPP 2-(/sup 14/C(U))-2-deoxy-2-fluoro-D-glucose (FDG) or FDG /sup 201/Tl enabled comparison of the uptake a glucose blood flow. These comparisons were carried out at onset mid-stage disease before congestive failure developed. Groups CM animals treated verapamil from age 26 days, for 41 days. In hearts, areas decreased seen. much larger than decrease 201/Tl. early only minimal changes observed as compared to controls. Treatment CM-prone prevented any DMIPP, FDG, uptake. seems be more sensitive indicator FDG. The trial SPECT diagnosis human disease, well monitoring effects drugs which may prevent it tomore » warranted.« less
