摘要: Abstract The effect of n -butanol on the mobility phospholipids in phospholipid vesicles and beef heart mitochondrial membranes has been studied using three stearic acid spin labels having a paramagnetic doxyl group positions 5,12, 16, respectively, fluorescent probe 1-anilinonaphthalene-8-sulfonate (ANS). aliphatic chains increases from polar heads toward methyl groups both membranes; however, latter there is higher constriction rotational observed at all levels lipid bilayer. Butanol determines moderate increase vesicles, but more striking membranes, where protein-induced constraint fatty acyl removed low concentrations alcohol. also enhances tightly bound residual lipid-depleted preparations, although butanol are required for this effect. series -alcohols related to their hydrophobicity. Alcohols induce decrease fluorescence ANS membranes. not result decreased partition aqueous medium bilayer, depends upon change chromophore environment. Since no shift emission maximum after alcohol addition, such must be ascribed increased probe, accord with label data. As data, hydrophobicity; difference electron resonance results, effects maximal pure vesicles. It calculated that alcohols affect long-range interactions between proteins (as detected by labels) order bilayers near glycerol region ANS). differences two kinds probes may differing localization
