Strength Analysis of a PTO (Power Take-Off) Gear-Train of a Multi-Purpose Cultivator during a Rotary Ditching Operation

摘要: Optimal design of transmission gears is important to ensure product durability and reliability. This study measured a multi-purpose cultivator during rotary ditching operation analyzed the strength power take off (PTO) gear-train for using analysis software (KISSsoft, KISSsoft AG—A Gleason Company, Bubikon, Switzerland) based on ISO 6336 standards modified Miner’s rule. A load measurement system was installed measure PTO shaft. To shaft, measuring consisting data acquisition board (NI USB-6212, National Instruments, Austin, TX, USA) torque sensor cultivator. Rotary operations were conducted at two ground speeds rotational field with same soil conditions. The constructed rainflow-counting algorithm Smith-Watson-Topper equation. When speed or increased, average maximum increased significantly. ratio rated input shaft (19.6 Nm) in range 50.1–105.9%. simulation results actual indicated that tended decrease higher gear stage lower except G2 G3 gears. safety factor contact stress than minimum ‘1.0’ T2P1 (G4 G2). fatigue life showed less service (1000 h) T2P2 (G2) (G2, G3, G4). indicate there possibility failure before G4) (G2). It known weak parts should be focus optimization through meet upward 1.0 life.
