Low‐pressure, automated, sample packing unit for diffuse reflectance infrared spectrometry

摘要: An automatic, low‐pressure packing unit has been designed with control of time and pressure to prepare powder samples for diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS). This also provides a polished surface that ensures constant measurement height the sample in spectrometer. Use this coupled rotation during particle size distribution, excellent precision obtaining DRIFTS spectra. For example, repackings by single person or several untrained people gave coefficients variation from 0.8% 2.3% each digital spectral value coal 1.3% 3.7% thymol blue, sharp featured organic, rather than 15%–30% normally found same sample. Thus representative spectra can be obtained quickly efficiently spectrum using low‐pressure, mechanical device, parameters, as opposed previous efforts requiring repacking averaging
