Serological differentiation of strains of group B streptococci by the soft-agar technique

摘要: Abstract Soft-agar technique was applied for serological determination of strains group B streptococci. With representative type strains, their colonial morphology converted from diffuse- to compact-type growth only by the addition homologous rabbit antiserum in medium and no conversion observed heterologous antisera. Twenty seven out 30 fresh ilolates obtained human clinical specimens showed diffuse-type soft-agar were subjected this examination. Twenty-one reacted with a single antiserum, 5 reactivities two different antisera although reaction an significantly higher than those other strain. major serotypes determined coincided differentiated Lancefield's precipitin method.
