摘要: Agile (flexible) manufacturing, a natural successor to lean emphasizes customized products, efficiency (as pursued through manufacturing and other methods for making more with less), responsiveness meeting diverse customer requirements in prompt personalized manner. Unlike which mass production large-scale corporate structures, agile is better suited smaller scale modular flexible facilities. In this environment, resources such as (cross-trained) workforce will become increasingly essential. article we show how worker cross-training can improve the performance of systems capacity balancing variability buffering. We also present effective design control principles utilize potential benefits workforce. Keywords: flexible workforce; agile manufacturing; single-worker push lines; variability buffering; CONWIP
