LAXATIVE AND ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES OF CASSIA SPECIES GROWING IN IBADAN

摘要: Colorimetric estimation of anthraquinone content, antimicrobial and laxative effects leaves pods Cassia fistula Linn., C. specatabilis DC C podocarpa Guill. Perr. are described because the popular uses these species by herbalists in Ibadan. The exhibited potent antifungal activity than leaf samples. Pods showed significant antibacterial when compared to that ampicillin. This study justifies use traditional medicine.
