THE “BIG FIVE” PERSONALITY FACTORS IN THE IPI AND MMPI: PREDICTORS OF POLICE PERFORMANCE

摘要: Rational and empirical linkages were formed between the “Big Five” personality factors two inventories: Inwald Personality Inventory (IPI), which is a inventory designed especially for use in selection of corrections officers, Minnesota Multiphasic (MMPI). A criterion-related validation study was then conducted to assess validity these measures Big Five predicting various police performance. Results indicated that while both inventories provided adequate Neuroticism, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, neither consistently contributed incremental over Civil Service exam.
