摘要: The analysis of high molecular weight (HMW) proteins from complex mixtures is still a challenge in proteomics. This work introduces novel hydrogel obtained by the copolymerization an allyl-PVA derivative with acrylamide and bisacrylamide applies this matrix to electrophoretic separation HMW proteins. By inducing gelation polyacrylamide presence variable amounts allyl-PVA, it possible control vary average gel porosity. easy produce handle offers advantage being highly mechanically resistant macroporous. new was tested mono-dimensional separations protein extracted red cell membranes different detergents. improved performance macroporous allowed identify MS immunoblot using specific antibodies. In particular, resolution ranging size between 97 279 kDa greatly here compared standard gels, suggesting that can be useful tool routine biology.
