摘要: The role of rotavirus in diarrheal disease rabbits was investigated, and a model for human infection established. Orogastric inoculation 8- 12-week-old New Zealand White with rabbit strain (L:ALA:84) resulted fecal shedding virus 6 to 8 days from 2 5 after inoculation. Most exhibited diarrhea, coincident the onset viral shedding, which persisted 4 days. Diarrhea characterized by soft or fluid stools staining perineum. Inoculation 3-week-old briefer period diarrhea milder nature. Histopathologic examination during revealed mild, nonsuppurative enteritis. Inoculated antibodies serum enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Sham-inoculated uninoculated maintained same cage room inoculated acquired infection. mild isolate severe field cases suggests that cofactors were involved.
