摘要: Abstract Natural ventilation, which is in line with the concepts of sustainability and green energy, widely acknowledged nowadays. Prevailing winds urban areas are unavoidably modified by increasing number closely placed high-rise buildings that significantly modify natural ventilation behaviour. This paper explores effects building interference on using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques. The cross-ventilation rate (temporal-average volumetric airflow rate) hypothetical apartments a cluster under isothermal conditions was examined standard two-equation k − ɛ turbulence model. sensitivity to wind direction, separation disposition (building shift) studied. Placing farther away from one another substantially promoted rate, cancelling unfavourable eventually when about five times width (the optimum separation). characteristic flow pattern leading this behaviour revealed. With adoption disposition, could be reduced three width. In addition, rates doubled suitable shifts. Building therefore feasible solutions improve performance our crowded environment.
