摘要: The regeneration of the skin and its appendages is thought to occur by regulated activation a dedicated stem cell population. A population cells in bulge region hair follicle has been identified as putative both interfollicular epidermis. While this assertion supported variety surrogate assays, there no direct confirmation normal contribution these structures other than cycling portion follicle. Here, we report lineage analysis revealing that follicular epithelium derived from epidermal placode express Sonic hedgehog. This also demonstrates resident regenerate are neither epidermis nor source absence trauma.
