摘要: Prolonged lifetime estrogen exposure due to early puberty, delayed menopause, environmental estrogen/phytoestrogen exposure, and/or exogenous hormone therapy has been correlated with an increased risk of estrogen-responsive cancers including breast, endometrial, and ovarian carcinomas. Accumulating evidence links aberrant Notch signaling these cancers, mechanisms cross talk between the pathway are beginning emerge. is a tightly regulated process that controlled temporally spatially by cellular environment, can behave as oncogene or tumor suppressor in cell-, tissue-, timing-specific manner. The role played cancer stem cells mediator resistance becoming increasingly clear, most notably breast cancer, wherein combinatorial therapeutic strategies being designed target not only bulk but also endocrine-resistant cells.
