摘要: Children should have betamethasone nose drops prescribed for only short periods Iatrogenic Cushing's syndrome secondary to oral corticosteroid treatment is well documented, as systemic absorption of topical steroid preparations that are potent or used a long time. However, frank result inhaled intranasal corticosteroids not recognised. We present two cases childhood prolonged use betamethasone. ### Case 1 >A boy aged 7 years was referred the endocrine clinic with history growth failure associated obesity. Over past his weight had increased from 50th 97th centile height falling 10th 3rd centile. He no note apart mild atopy and chronic catarrh, which he been 0.1% nasal drops. On examination cushingoid normal prepubertal genitalia. His blood pressure 165/75 mm Hg (>95th age). Pituitary diagnosed clinically admitted assessment. expected find high serum cortisol concentrations, but undetectable (<24 nmol/l) did respond stimulation by insulin hypoglycaemia. Adrenocorticotrophic hormone also undetectable. A 24 hour urine sample showed extremely low adrenal metabolite indicating severely impaired function. Computed tomography brain glands …
