摘要: Abstract With a growing number of forest biodiversity indicators being applied in policy documents and even more suggested by the scientific community, there is need to evaluate, review critically assess strength evidence for individual indicators, their interrelationships potential overlaps gaps. Biodiversity proposed ecosystems Europe were reviewed with overarching aim providing advice on strategic selection combination indictors. The objectives (1) establish between indicandum (i.e. indicated aspect biodiversity); (2) indicators; (3) identify set confirmed validity further testing inclusion long-term reporting decision-making regarding biodiversity. Ten indicator groups 83 identified application from stand scale up landscape 142 eligible papers. In 62 studies no statistical correlations indicator(s) performed 42 (out 62) did not present clear indicandum. remaining 80 studies, 412 identified. However, only six assessed as supported strong evidence, i.e. three or found correlation indicandum, reported contradictory results. For species richness relationships, was positive deadwood volume wood-living fungal richness; saproxylic beetle diversity age canopy trees epiphytic lichen richness. There negative tree cover spider Concerning composition-related correlation, that composition lichens changed trees. These results imply most which monitoring conservation planning are based weakly scientifically validation current needed.
