摘要: A quantitative light microscopic study has been carried out on the myenteric and submucosal ganglia of stomach, duodenum, ileum, proximal colon rectum guinea-pig; enteric ileum were studied also in mouse, rabbit sheep. The area profiles nerve cells, cell nuclei glial nuclei, proportion occupied by neuropil measured, relative numbers neurons cells estimated. found to be firmly anchored stroma muscle coat; their shape component varied with contraction distension musculature. range neuronal sizes was extremely wide. In guinea-pig, average largest stomach duodenum smallest intermediate values rectum; showed little variation size along length gut. ganglion greatest sheep had guinea-pig rabbit. percentage volume 51% 65% 70% rabbit, 74% number ranked same order. all species examined ganglia, when compared corresponding a smaller neuropil, much (except mouse ileum) size. there positive correlation between cells. results are discussed possible relations body (and intestine), numerical density neurons, amount musculature, distance neuropil.
