摘要: A quantitative light microscopic study has been carried out on the myenteric and submucosal ganglia of guinea-pig ileum, after inducing hypertrophy wall with an experimental stenosis. The area profiles nerve cells, cell nuclei glial nuclei, percentage neuropil were measured, relative numbers neurons cells estimated. average size in both plexuses was greatly increased over control values. Nearly half neuronal measured 500 μm2 sectional (less than 3% controls), less 1% 150 (21% controls). (and presumably that too) hypertrophic ganglia. number (relative to neurons) unchanged or slightly decreased ganglia; contrast, it markedly In accompanied by a decrease volume neuropil.
