摘要: A new model of the coronal and interplanetary magnetic field can predict both strength its polarity from measurements photospheric field. The includes effects large-scale horizontal electric currents flowing in inner corona, warped heliospheric current sheet upper volume region where solar wind plasma totally controls matches MHD solution for a simple dipole test case better than earlier source surface models. radial component predicted quiet time samples each year 1977 to 1986 agree with observations made near Earth's orbit hybrid MHD-source (Wang Sheeley, 1988). results raise question whether holes are only wind. If some flux originates outside holes, match observed using accepted 1.8 saturation correction factor λ5250 magnetograph observations. Requiring open come exclusively requires an additional two.
