摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the transfer ribonucleic acid (tRNA) modification-deficient mutants that have been pivotal in unraveling their role tRNA function. Unexpectedly, some modified nucleosides (m5U54, s4U8, and Q34), which occur frequently tRNA, show no apparent functional impact on based normal growth rate of corresponding mutants. Other (ms2ioGA37, mlG37, W38, 39, 40) influence function result a reduced polypeptide chain elongation for mutant. Although, from all three phylogenetic domains, archaea, bacteria, eucarya, earlier called kingdoms archaebacteria, eubacteria, eukaryotes, respectively contains nucleosides. A subset these is present tRNAs organisms. Moreover, are even comparable positions domains. Therefore, may progenitor. However, domain-specific demonstrating presence has evolved after domains had separated.
