Effect of the Thawing Process on Cryopreserved Arteries

摘要: This study was designed to explore the changes that occur in cryopreserved pig arteries following different thawing procedures, before and after being placed an vitro flow circuit. Segments of minipig iliac artery were complete minimal essential medium plus 10% dimethylsulphoxide stored liquid nitrogen at −196°C for 30 days. Three groups established according whether arterial specimens fresh (control, n = 20), rapidly thawed (RT) 37°C (n 22) or subjected controlled, automated slow (ST) 22). Half each group subsequently circuit 72 hr. Evaluation made morphological ultrastructural changes. Cell damage using TUNEL method. All showed endothelial denudation most extensive those rapid thawing. Slowly improved cell viability organization vessel wall, compared rapidly.
