摘要: Gentamicin is a widely used antibiotic against serious and life-threatening infections; however, its usefulness limited by the development of nephrotoxicity. The present study was designed to determine whether flavocoxid has protective effect gentamicin-induced nephrotoxicity in rats. For this purpose, we quantitatively evaluated renal structural functional alterations using histopathological biochemical approaches. Furthermore, on gentamicin induced hypersensitivity urinary bladder rings acetylcholine (ACh) determined. Twenty-four male Wistar albino rats were randomly divided into three groups, namely control, (100 mg/kg, i.p.) plus (20 mg/kg, orally). At end study, all sacrificed then blood, urine samples kidneys collected for further analysis. administration caused severe which evidenced an elevated somatic index (RSI), serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, lactate dehydrogenase, protein with concomitant reduction albumin normalized creatinine clearance value as compared controls. Moreover, significant increase contents malondialdehyde, myeloperoxidase, tumor necrosis factor-alpha decrease reduced glutathione superoxide dismutase activities detected upon together increasing sensitivity isolated ACh. Exposure tubular epithelial cells. Flavocoxid protected kidney tissue oxidative damage nephrotoxic treatment. In addition, significantly responses results from our indicate that supplement attenuates injury via amelioration stress inflammation
