POSSIBILITIES OF A SEMI-CIRCULAR BENDING TEST

摘要: The possibilities of a Semi-Circular Bending (SCB) test on semi-cylindrical specimens is investigated as an alternative to the Indirect Tensile Test (ITT) determine flexural strength, stiffness and fatigue behaviour asphalt concrete. Finite element analysis relations for stresses deformations under SCB have been derived. Based these tensile strength two mixes were determined with laboratory tests. These results compared ITT same mixes. It can be concluded that gives comparable strength. determination requires accurate measurement relatively small vertical loading. Fatigue tests also carried out. used mix design performance related specifications reliable quality control production road construction. A standard set-up proposed.
