摘要: Multifunctional proteins are demonstrating that gene expression is not a series of compartmentalized events beginning with transcription and culminating in delivery mature mRNA into the cytoplasm, but an integrated pathway transcription, splicing, RNA metabolism subcellular targeting translation. One such multifunctional family made up RNA-binding TLS, EWS TAF15. These three each contribute potent transcriptional activation domain to oncogenic fusion proteins, formation these genes thought be primary causes their associated cancers. Wild-type TAF15 can function as classical factors addition better-known functions splicing transport. The interaction between TLS stress-response protein YB-1 example how induce multi-faceted change expression, they interact changes both target genes. Investigating multiple will enhance our understanding whole, also allow us better understand may contributing pathways initiate.
