摘要: Abstract The reaction of (o-SCH3C6H4)3P with three equivalents dibromine produces the unusual salt {[(o-SCH3C6H4)3PBr][Br]·0.5(μ-Br2)3}n, which contains a bromo-phosphonium cation and polybromide network built up [Br]− anions molecules. This structure is first reported compound an R3PBr5 stoichiometry, exhibits structure, propagates via bromide interacting different molecules, {(Br)−(μ-Br2)3}n. Each anion also interacts one [(o-SCH3C6H4)3PBr]+ cation. two-dimensional that formed templated around cation, both exhibiting crystallographically imposed C3 symmetry. crystal packing allows cations to pack in back-to-back fashion, formation (EF)6 aryl embrace. type commonly observed embracing motif possible as (o-SCH3C6H4) rings adopt exo3 conformation. arranged cations, forms 18-membered hexagonal (consisting six molecules), chair connectivity discussed compared other known species.
