Radiotherapy for lung cancer in the elderly

摘要: Mortality from lung cancer is increasing in patients > or = 70 years. Radiotherapy has an important role the treatment of for this group. Despite this, there have been few elderly specific trials radiotherapy and current often based on evidence extrapolated studies treating younger patients. This review literature examines impact radical palliative non-small-cell small-cell cancer, survival, treatment-related toxicity quality life elderly. We also comment need validated, practical geriatric screening assessment tools to help predict treatment.
