摘要: [1] We describe a method for assimilating sequentially tracer measurements in isentropic chemistry-transport models (CTMs) of the stratosphere. The parametrisation forecast error covariance and its evolution is largely based on simplifications described Menard Chang [2000] Khattatov et al. [2000]. model used here high resolution advection which driven by ECMWF (European Center Medium range Weather Forcast) meteorological analyses. assimilation surfaces allow us to exploit well-established correlation between mixing ratio potential vorticity formulation covariance. Multiple 20-day sequential assimilations MLS (Microwave Limb Sounder onboard UARS satellite) ozone data during an depletion event are performed. χ2 (chi-square) OmF (observation minus forecast) statistics optimise system adjusting parameters quality analysis found be significantly improved when strong taken into account.
