摘要: An exceptional ozone increase in the upper troposphere–lower stratosphere region has been recorded by an sounding performed over high Canadian Arctic at beginning of August 2003. Simultaneously observed low humidity and tropopause height suggest that this anomalous enhancement is attributed to a downward transport from stratosphere. This latter investigated using Ertel potential vorticity field calculated ECMWF analyses. The occurrence such concentrations shown be due stratospheric ozone-rich air intrusions. These mesoscale phenomena are successfully captured assimilation Envisat/MIPAS profiles into global three-dimensional chemistry model Meteo-France (MOCAGE). study shows adds value sense analyses capture whole intrusion episode, whereas raw simulation does not.
