摘要: Abstract Oxidation has been measured a major problem for biodiesel commercialization. Auto-oxidation takes place when exposed to air, heat, light and metallic contaminants which affects adversely the fuel characteristics of biodiesel. Addition synthetic antioxidants generally improves oxidation stability biodiesel; however use large concentration additives makes process uneconomical. This study investigates effectiveness individual as well binary improve Jatropha Karanja biodiesels. Antioxidant synergy was investigated using 500, 600 700 ppm antioxidant combinations namly Pyrogallol:Propyl gallate (PY:PrG), Pyrogallol:tert-butyl hydroquinone (PY:TBHQ) Pyrogallol:Butylated hydroxyanisole (PY:BHA) at weight ratios 9:1, 3:1, 2:1, 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 1:9, respectively. It observed that higher blends mixture produced negative synergy, best showed by systems PY:PrG, PY:TBHQ, are mixed ratios; whereas PY:BHA resulted in complete antagonism. However, system on found order 1:3/3:1 > 1:2/2:1 > 1:1 > 1:9/9:1. The efficacy evaluated pressurized PetroOXY method. Further dependency fatty acid composition also observed.
