摘要: Abstract A meta-analysis was conducted to estimate schizophrenia incidence in first-degree relatives (FDRs) of probands diagnosed with schizophrenia. The aim inform future research and improve accuracy risk communication patients. Schizophrenia FDRs 1 or 2 investigated by conducting a systematic review cohort case-control studies the following criteria: published between 1977 2018; reported odds ratios (OR), relative (RR) or sufficient raw data calculate OR RR; used appropriate diagnostic criteria; proband recruitment ascertainment relatives. Studies were obtained via EMBASE MEDLINE electronic database searches. From an initial 5755 articles, 19 met inclusion criteria. Mean effect sizes across estimated using random effects methods. Estimates for OR = 7.69 (95% CI 5.11–11.56) one compared healthy control probands, increasing OR = 11.11 CI = 1.45–85.02) two These findings support existing literature suggesting significant genetic liability results can be educate individuals family history about their risk.
