Numerical and Experimental Investigations of Crossover Ion Impingement for Subscale Ion Optics

摘要: A coordinated experimental and modeling study is carried out to investigate the crossover ion impingement of accelerator grid for a seven-aperture gridlet. Simulations from new three-dimensional global gridlet model reveal differences in beamlet profile accelerator-grid pattern between center aperture an edge on at near-crossover operating conditions. It shown that simulation predictions impingement-current characteristics limits agree well with those measurements.
