摘要: Aim: Neutropenia is a relatively common cause of patient referral to the Immunology and Pediatric Rheumatology Department National Children’s Hospital. The present study characterizes cases neutropenia referred this department between November 1988 June 2008. Methods: Eighty four patients 0 12 years age, were from 6th, 1st, We performed comprehensive descriptive analysis characteristics exhibited by these in terms clinical course, pattern infection, most causative germs, complications treatment applied. Results: resolved spontaneously 52.2% patients, they classified as transient neutropenia, 21.7% developed cyclic 13% categorized benign chronic 7.2% severe symptomatic 2.9% had associated with type 1B glycogenosis not classifiable any proposed categories. More than 50% an abnormal infection frequency, severity, multiplicity systems involved, or presence opportunistic microorganisms. upper respiratory tract was commonly affected system infection. Prophylactic antibiotics used 39.1% granulocyte colony stimulating factor required 11.6% at some stage course. frequently involved pathogens Pseudomonas aeruginosa , Staphylococcus sp E. coli . Conclusion: vast majority neutropenic same germs described other series, caused infections our patients. absolute neutrophil count diagnosis has no effect on incidence recurrent but course does.
