摘要: The effect of initial grain size on the microstructural evolution and tensile properties an extruded Mg-9Al-0.6Zn alloy was investigated using homogenized billets with sizes 411 87 μm. It is found that although dynamically recrystallized (DRXed) grains remain same regardless size, a finer-grained billet results in significant reduction area fraction un-DRXed through increase boundaries capable acting as nucleation sites for DRX during hot extrusion. This DRXed grains, combined more precipitates, improves yield strength alloy. elongation also significantly improved, unDRXed suppresses formation twins cause micro-cracks. increased ductility subsequently ultimate continuous strain hardening.
