摘要: Abstract : Open source software (OSS) is emerging as the community's next "silver bullet" and appears to be playing a significant role in acquisition development plans of Department Defense (DoD) industry. Yet, with all previous silver bullets, there are problems blindly embracing 055 paradigm. To become familiar benefits pitfalls using 055, Software Engineering Institute (SEl) undertook an internally funded study looking at it from various perspectives: * user developer organizations deploy systems comprised (partially or completely) components During period this study, members SEl technical staff hosted meetings, conducted interviews, participated open activities, workshops, conferences, studied available literature on subject. Through these authors have been able support sometimes refute common perceptions about 055. This report result their study.
